I am Arachnea from Ft Worth Texas. My strange nickname came from my love of sewing and "weaving" web pages- My real name is Charlotte so Arachnea seemed fitting. When I was 6, my mother bought a machine for me to make Barbie clothes out of her sewing scraps. No one told me they were hard to make- they just fed me scraps and introduced me to a world of making pretty things.
After years of making curtains, clothes, prom dresses, and mending I fell in
love with quilting. Now I am hopelessly addicted and have corrupted my
youngest daughter as well. You can find us haunting the quilt shops,
petting fabrics, collecting pretty quilting thread and drooling over the latest
quilty toys.

One day I stumbled into Quilt Chat and have been soaking up the
knowledge and friendship of all the wonderful, talented, generous ladies ever
since.
My best friend Al married me back in 1979. He is my cheering section and support
system; without him I would be incomplete. We have 3 daughters, two in
college and one left at home that we are home schooling, they are the joys
of our life.
Our home is
run by two spoiled twin cats- they run the show and are the "Quilt Guardians".
Each new length of fabric is closely inspected by them, every quilt on the frame
is petted, unattended thimbles are hidden under rugs and couch pillows, thread
tails are swatted.
