I started quilting about 10 years ago when I had to leave my job due to severe
panic/anxiety disorder. I needed something to occupy my hands and mind in a
productive way, and quilting fit the bill. Actually, I'll do almost anything
involving a needle and thread of some kind. I also knit, crochet, embroider, do
counted cross-stitch, needlepoint, needle tatting and construct clothing. (I
don't think I've left anything out.) I have three sewing machines, but my
favorite is my trusty 301A, for which I bartered. It has no fancy stitches, just
makes the most beautiful straight stitch you've ever seen.I live in the mountains of Virginia, just about 20 miles north of the North Carolina line. I'm not married and have no children, unless you count the furry ones with four legs. Of the furry children, I have NinaDog who is 7, and FoxCat who is 8. I’m on the lookout for another cat to adopt as a companion for FoxCat. I have two sisters, each with one daughter.
