I am Busybee aka Melinda Kleist. I live in Evans Ga, USA. I have
one Awesome Husband -Scott- (Married April 17,1987), 3 children - 2 boys (16
and 18) and 1 girl (14). The whole family sews, quilts or crafts.
I have been sewing for over 35 yrs and quilting for over 20. I
love color and texture. My other hobbies are silk ribbon, beadwork,
painting, drawing, embroidery, stamping, and some odd craft making here and
there. I love collecting fabric and more fabric. My favorite colors are Hot
Pinks and Orange. Love appliqué. Needle turn is my favorite.
I
have 5 machines -Singer 1919, Singer FW1935, Singer FW1956, 2 Singer 500A'
s, and 3 Surges. I hope to get a treadle soon and have dropped the first
hints to DH for a 222k machine. An embroidery machine is on my list too. I
just have to convince DH that machines are cheaper by the dozen. LOLOL
I love history and books on textiles, math and reading, and of
course looking, picturing designing and making quilts. I love to collect
patterns and the history behind them. I have lots of books for research and
always looking for more books. I have over 5000 patterns but still have not
research them all. One day I want travel to Washington D.C. to the Smithson
to study what they have in the textile building.
Some
of the charities I support are Breast Cancer Awareness, March of Dimes,
Alzheimer's and various children's benefits. Take time and get involved in
a local charity that touches your heart.
