Hi, all, my name in real life is Ngaire Birch, pronounced Nyree. I live in
Brisbane, in the sunny state of Queensland, Australia. I am divorced and live
with one cat called Remy (who is a machine quilting cat, but is getting to
become a hand quilting cat as well).
I have been quilting since 1986, but only started having formal lessons since
1995. Mainly I liked machine piecing and quilting, but have recently
re-discovered hand appliqué and hand quilting and am trying to find time to do
these things.
I recently upgraded my qualifications in aromatherapy and am trying to earn an
income from it, as well as study for my degree in Health Science (Western Herbal
medicine). In the meantime I earn my money for my stash from being a pathology
specimen collector/ phlebotomist/ vampire.
I have been coming to Quiltchat since Sept 2004 and have loved it, it helps me
especially when having trouble sleeping at night, there is always someone to
