After a career in retailing it was time for a change and
sewing beckoned. Quilting came later, about 18 years ago.
It is my passion and, although speed is not my primary goal,
I prefer machine and long arm quilting. Hand appliqué is also a favorite
pastime.

My husband of 42 years, Harry, and I moved to Austin, Texas, from Dallas 11
years ago. In Dallas I worked in a fabric store and taught sewing and
quilting classes. Now, in retirement, there is more time to enjoy quilting
and quilt shows.
We do not have children, but our late cat, Scooter,
inspired my nickname and my cat quilts. Now we have a pretty little girl
cat named Snippet. I also collect lime green and chartreuse fabrics as well.

Chatting on #QuiltChat has helped me develop my computer skills, as well as
giving me the opportunity to make many new friends. We joke about Austin having
the world's largest urban bat colony--which it does--but you can see that we are
also having an invasion of rather large chickens.
