Howdy
from the great state of Texas, where I live with Cliff and our 4
legged babies (Velvet, Squirt, Bandit, Bella and not to forget our cat
Clyde), and what ever stray happens to show up at any given time.
We live on a
15 acre farm at the base of the hill country, which we love. I
have a tendency to get inspiration for some of my quilts right here at
home.
I am 42
years old. I have been sewing for 30+ years and have been quilting
for about 10 of those years. I really started getting serious about my
quilting about 6 years ago. I have also done may charity quilts, which
I give away to family and friends or sell with my daughter.
I enjoy many
hobbies outside of quilting. After receiving a 2006 Suzuki 650
motorcycle for mothers day last year, I have enjoyed the wonderful places I
have visited in Texas on my bike. I can't do a lot of quilt shop hopping on a
motorcycle and that is a disappointment . Since meeting Clifford in
2003 I have enjoyed many adventures that I thought I was too old for (flying
through the trees in Cyprus Valley, gambling in Louisiana, fishing in all
the
rivers and lakes I can find, and fabric shopping on the weekends). For a big
ol' Texas cowboy, he sure turned out to be a teddy bear.
We purchased
a 2001 Freightliner in 2005 and we have seen some beautiful
country from the East Coast to the West Coast with lots of stops in between.
Quilting as we go down the highways of this great country of ours has been one
of the greatest experiences of my life. I look forward to a time when I
can do it again.
I have 2
children that I am especially proud of for their love, friendship,
and the accomplishments they have achieved. My son Michael, 22, lives in
the Dallas, TX area and my daughter Desiree',20, lives in the McAllen, TX
area. So I am almost right smack in the middle of the two. I
couldn't ask for more!
