* SuperChats are usually "Protocol Chats". This means that the channel is moderated by the guest speaker, scooter and merrybee. Until recognized, these three people are the only people permitted to speak on channel during a SuperChat. Here are some guidelines to make your experience more pleasant:

bulletCheck the Topic of the channel to see if there is a SuperChat in progress. If there is a meeting in progress, you will be notified privately upon joining the channel. Please respect this.
bulletAlways use quiltchat.ascends.net (also hurricane.ascends.net) (any port between 6667-6669 or 7000) as your server during a SuperChat to avoid splits and lag, which can be very disruptive. If you cannot get onto this server, try a backup server such as shockwave.ascends.net or extreme.ascends.net
bulletCome in quietly so as not to disturb the meeting. Greetings are not necessary or desired.
bulletPlease refrain from using pop-ups or sounds during a SuperChat.
bulletTo be recognized, type "?" for a question and "!" for a comment.
bulletHave your question/comment typed and ready to hit return.
bulletWhen you are recognized, state your question or comment then.
bulletIf you must leave, do so quietly.
bulletPlease don't disturb the moderators with private messages or query.

* Usually around 10:00 or 10:30pm, the SuperChat turns to free chat with our speaker. Please be courteous and observe channel policies and try not to overwhelm him/her with questions.

If you are a quilter of some renown and would like to be a SuperChat guest speaker, please contact lorraine@quiltchat.com.
